Description: , including three plans that require no employee contribution for full family coverageGeneral DescriptionThe Groundskeeper plays a critical role in the overall beautification of District sites. Under direction of the Maintenance and Operations Department and the site administrators, the Groundskeeper performs a variety of skilled gardening work.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversees beautification of district propertyPlants and cares for lawns, shrubs, trees and flowers.Oversees weed control – mixes and applies insecticides, fungicides and sprays.Prunes shrubs and propagates plants.Assists with repairs of sprinkler systems, and performs other plumbing and carpentry related to grounds maintenance.Assists with drags and marks athletic fields.Maintains and repairs tools and equipment.Operates power mowers and other power tools.Clean, maintain and repair turf and track.Completes work orders in a timely fashionAssist with emergency responsePerforms all other related duties assigned by supervisor.Who we areCampbell Union High School District, located in the heart of the Silicon Valley, is a small, close knit district committed to ensuring every student is ready for the future. Frequent contacts with Principals and other school personnel.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities RequiredOne year of full time experience, preferred, as a gardener in maintenance of large areas with a variety of plantings or the equivalent.Knowledge of lawn and shrub care and safety practices.Must possess a valid Class I California driver’s license.Ability to read sprinkler and water system plans, use power tools, follow written instructions, and fill out reports.Perform work in a safe manner while on school grounds.Physical Effort/Work EnvironmentHeavy physical labor in an outdoor environment.Union
