Description: Additive Manufactured Electronic Materials ScientistThe Opportunity:We’re looking for a skilled materials chemist to help drive advancements in microelectronics research and development for the Department of Defense. Our clients are pursuing revolutionary innovations in additive manufactured microelectronics, specifically developing materials and processes for high-performance devices to advance printed electronics technology well beyond the state-of-the-art. The ideal candidate will not only have technical experience in one or more of these areas but will also have experience in managing the execution of technical projects and programs.As part of our team, you’ll serve as a strategic technical consultant to program managers at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), helping to oversee the creation and execution of advanced government-funded research and development programs in microsystems design for flexible battery applications. You’ll work with world-class scientists and engineers to identify program goals and metrics that will enable mission success. You will maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assisting with the management of current programs, and facilitating the transition of program deliverables to DoD stakeholders. This position will require travel within the U.S., when necessary to accommodate client needs, and is based in Arlington, VA.Join us. The world can’t wait.You Have:5+ years of experience with research and development (R&D) in the field of additive manufacturing of electronic materials, including printed semiconductors, dielectrics, and metalsExperience with conventional semiconductor fabrication tools and processesAbility to obtain a Secret clearanceBachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and 3+ years of experience with research and development (R&D) in the field of additive manufacturing of electronic materials including printed semiconductors, dielectrics, and metalsNice If You Have:Experience with photochemistry and performing high-resolution additive manufacturingExperience with self-assembly of nanoparticles or thin-filmsExperience developing novel functional inks for printed electronic applications and optimizing the electronic performance of the printed device by ink formulation or post-deposition processingExperience performing and interpreting electronic measurements of conventional and printed electronic devices and structuresExperience with nanoscale and microscale material characterization and metrology, including atomic force microscopy, profilometry, scanning electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysisExperience with modern 3-dimensional heterogeneous integration and advanced packaging approachesExperience with performing or supporting government-sponsored research activitiesTop Secret clearance preferredDoctorate degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related fieldClearance:Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.CompensationAt Booz Allen, we celebrate your contributions, provide you with opportunities and choices, and support your total well-being. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
