JOB OVERVIEWJob Description Summary:The George Washington University Law School Health Law & Policy Center is an initiative of the George Washington University Law School that seeks to produce legal and policy solutions to improve the value of health care delivered to the American public. Through education, research, and convenings, the Health Law & Policy Center seeks to address many of the most urgent challenges facing the nation’s health sector: mitigating unsustainable costs, improving quality, encouraging socially desirable pharmaceutical and technological innovation, inadequate and inequitable access to care, and integrating healthcare delivery into a broader and more impactful social policy.The Health Law & Policy Center will collaborate with scholars across GW, other universities, DC think tanks, and foundations to develop and produce meaningful scholarship that will inform all levels of health policy.The Associate Program Director, GW Health Law & Policy Center will be chiefly responsible for advancing research projects and producing quality scholarship, with a priority on research projects that fund the Center and managed by the faculty co-directors. They will also generally support the needs and programs of the Health Law & Policy Center, as needed, and will be encouraged to develop an independent research agenda with the support of the GW Law faculty.Responsibilities of the Associate Program DirectorUnder the supervision of the Director, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:
The position is based at GW’s Foggy Bottom Campus in Washington, DC. Performs additional related duties as assigned by the Dean or the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in consultation with the Faculty Director(s) of the Health Law and Policy Program. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the Dean or the Senior Associate Dean from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 3 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
