The Director of Government Grants will report directly to the COO and will be responsible for all aspects of government funding for the organization. This position will play a vital role in securing the funding necessary for the organization’s growth and success by identifying funding opportunities, preparing compelling proposals, and maintaining strong relationships with current and potential funders.Our Ideal Candidate:· 5+ years of experience in grant writing required· Experience in a social services organization required· Proven ability to manage up to 45 grants required· Ability to work collaboratively and independently required· Bachelor’s Degree preferred· Master’s Degree preferredHow You Will Spend Your Day:· Researching Funding Opportunities: Identifying and reviewing new government funding opportunities that align with the organization’s needs and goals.· Proposal Development: Writing and drafting sections of proposals based on the grant guidelines, including gathering necessary data, supporting documentation, and ensuring the content is compelling and aligns with the funding agency’s priorities.· Collaboration and Meetings: Collaborating with internal teams, such as program staff, finance, and data departments, to gather necessary information and ensure the proposal is accurate and meets all requirements.· Editing and Revising: Reviewing, revising, and proofreading proposal drafts to ensure they are clear, persuasive, and free of errors before submission.· Deadline Management: Coordinating proposal timelines, tracking progress, and ensuring all components of the proposal are submitted on time.· Communication with Funders: Managing relationships with government funders by responding to inquiries, following up on submitted proposals, and occasionally participating in calls or meetings with funders to discuss proposals or ongoing projects.· Reporting and Documentation: Preparing reports for existing funders or completing follow-up paperwork on past grants, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.We’d love to hear from you.If this sounds like the job for you, we would love to help make that happen.
